About us: KCR was started in 1995 as a family based business offering personalized service that has pleased thousands of customers worldwide. Unlike the other "mass production" transmission shops, our
employees are "literally" family members. We have never strayed from our original beliefs of building each transmission to meet our customer's individual requirements. We refuse to be an assembly line type of
company that cares only about quantity, not quality. Our personalized service, coupled with the ability to provide a well-built, long-lasting, economical transmission has put us in a class with the world's best-known
builders. From stock split case transmissions, to VW drag racing to high-end sand cars, and everything in
between, KCR will build the perfect trans for you. We will take the time to find the best gear ratios to meet your
individual needs and proudly build it, using only quality parts that will provide years of trouble-free service. If you
are unfamiliar with KCR Transmissions, just ask around. We believe we have one of the lowest failure rates, as well as highest customer satisfaction ratings in the industry.
About Kevin:
I build every transmission that our company produces – over 14,000 to date! I take pride in my work and it shows.
I have worked on all types of VW's during my 22+ years of experience. I was a performance engine builder and line mechanic where I serviced air-cooled, water-cooled and diesel VW's. I have done engine-building, trans
building, fuel injection, suspension, wiring, paint and body, brakes, and pretty much everything VW head to toe. I also managed a VW parts store for a while and have extensive knowledge of the VW parts numbering system.
After starting a family, I realized I did not want to work for someone else all my life. I wanted
something more in life so I started KCR Transmissions in the latter part of 1995. I love doing what I do for a living.
It gives me personal satisfaction, some freedom, and the ability to provide for my family. You will see me at every VW race on the Bug O Rama/PRA circuit, competing, supporting and
having a great time. Typically, my family and I have spent the "off season" vacationing and hosting holiday events.
This year we will spend making more trips to the desert to go riding with our friends. As the sand crowd makes
up more than fifty percent of our business my family and I look forward to hanging out with past, present and future customers. See you soon, Kevin |
